GPS Failures

GPS Glitch​

The GPS is failing, and the vehicle is in a flight mode that requires GPS (e.g., Loiter, Auto).

Need 3D Fix​

The GPS does not yet have a 3D fix (position reading), and the vehicle is in a flight mode that requires GPS (e.g., Loiter, Auto).

Bad Velocity​

The vehicle speed (as determined by the inertial system) exceeds 50 cm/s.

  • The vehicle is moving or has crashed.

  • Bad accelerometer calibration.

  • The GPS is updating measurements at a rate below the expected 5Hz.

High GPS HDOP​

The GPS HDOP value (a measure of position accuracy) is above 2.0, and the vehicle is in a flight mode that requires GPS.

  • Wait a few minutes for better accuracy.

  • Move to a location with a clearer view of the sky.

  • Ensure GPS interference sources are removed from the Drone's GPS modules.
