IMU failures

INS not calibrated.

The offsets of one or all of the accelerometers are zero, therefore the accelerometers need to be calibrated.

Accels not healthy.

One of the accelerometers is reporting that it is not working correctly, which is usually a symptom of a hardware failure.

Accels inconsistent.

Accelerometers are reporting accelerations that differ by more than 1m/s/s. Accelerometers need to be re-calibrated or there may be a hardware failure.

Gyros not healthy.

One of the gyros is reporting that it is not working correctly, which is usually a symptom of a hardware failure.

Gyro calibration failed.

The gyro calibration failed to capture offsets.

  • Movement during calibration: Occurs when the Drone moves while calibrating (indicated by flashing red and blue lights).

  • Hardware failure: A less common cause but worth considering if the issue persists.

  • Unplug and reconnect the batteries.

  • Ensure no movement is introduced to the Drone during calibration.

Gyros inconsistent.

Two gyroscopes are reporting rotation rates that differ by more than 20 degrees/s. Gyros need to be re-calibrated or there may be a hardware failure.

  • If the issue continues despite following these steps, it might indicate a hardware problem, and you should contact the manufacturer.
